My Prescribing

Supporting prescribing practice development

Resources and educational aids for educators, prescribing students, and qualified prescribers.

What is "My prescribing"?

Purpose and aims

The purpose of this resources site is to support practitioners and educators in the development of safe and effective prescribing.

The key aims are to:

  • provide useful tools and resources to support and advance prescribing practice.

  • gain feedback from users and evaluate specific tools so they are of optimal benefit for prescribers.

  • facilitate information and resource exchange for prescribing practice.

This website offers a selection of resources and an opportunity to evaluate these.

The textbook "Principles and practice of nurse prescribing" (Gould and Bain, 2022) introduced a new prescribing consultation model ("RAPID-CASE"). This model aims to enable you to outline clear steps to prescribing decisions, and has been made available for your use and evaluation.
